- Old lawn removal (if needed)
- Fresh sod laid tight, no gaps
- Watering + first-two-weeks guidance

What We Install
We install the four sod types that work best in north-central Georgia:
- Bermuda โ sun-loving, traffic-tolerant, the default for most front lawns
- Zoysia โ soft underfoot, handles partial shade better than Bermuda
- Fescue โ the cool-season option for shaded lots and cooler microclimates
- Centipede โ low maintenance, lighter green, great for low-traffic yards
Site Prep
Good sod fails when it's laid on bad ground. We grade for proper drainage away from the house, remove the old lawn if needed, till to relieve compaction, and amend the soil so roots have something to grow into. Then the sod goes down โ tight seams, staggered like brick, rolled to lock contact with the soil underneath.
What to Expect โ First Two Weeks
The first 14 days are everything. Sod needs daily water (usually twice a day in summer) until roots establish. Keep foot traffic off for the first week. We send you a simple schedule when we finish and check back to make sure it's taking. After about 3 weeks the lawn handles normal use; full establishment takes 6โ8 weeks.
What We Stand Behind
If a section of our install fails because of how we laid it, we'll replace it. Sod that fails because watering instructions weren't followed isn't covered โ but we'll always come out to take a look before deciding either way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which sod type is right for my yard?
Depends on sun, traffic, and how much maintenance you want to do. For most front lawns in our area we recommend Bermuda; for shadier lots or a softer feel we lean Zoysia. We'll walk through it with you when we quote.
Do I need to remove my old lawn first?
Usually yes โ sod laid over existing grass doesn't root well. We handle removal as part of the install when it's needed.
When is the best time of year to install sod?
Warm-season grasses (Bermuda, Zoysia, Centipede) install best from late spring through early fall. Fescue does best in fall. We install year-round but timing affects how quickly it takes.
How much water does new sod need?
A lot โ typically twice a day for the first week, then daily for the second week, then tapering. We give you a written schedule when we finish.
